In the drama I'm watching, someone just described a wine as smelling like a 'burnt HB pencil'.

EDIT: OK, someone just mentioned the 'how to get a check' phrase, which is a bane to me whenever I'm in Japan. I remain convinced I knew how to ask for the bill some other way originally, though. I was probably doing it wrong.

O-kaike or kaikei, I'm not 100% sure on the pronunciation actually. I'm sure there was a different phrase me and Sorrel used to use though! We probably made it up or something.
