My impending doom...

Jan 11, 2008 23:06

A couple of days ago I looked in the mirror and noticed a red welt-like thing under my right eye. I have no idea what caused it or why I have it. There is no pain nor itching. Nothing, just the red welt. I'm pretty sure it means I'll be dead within a matter of hours. In case I am, good bye everyone ( Read more... )

Get it?
Haha .. I kill me.

I don't like the Kindle. I like the feel and the smell of a real book.. how much does the kindle cost if you don't mind my asking?

Hi. Have I told you lately that I love you? And, that you have lovely nails? And, that you're very funny? I wrote a play called, "The House of Severed Limbs". You'd love it.

As to the Kindle: Yes, I, too, am a book lover. That's why I've accumulated thousands of them. But, the advantages and convenience of this device are too great for me to pass up. I can carry this thing around in my pocket and have hundreds of books etc with me at all times. I can also load my own documents on it, for editing etc.

It cost $399.00. The price seems steep but the electronic ink technology that makes the display so excellent is quite expensive. Plus, it gives you FULL TIME, **FREE** WIRELESS access to the web. Given all those things, I think it's well worth the money, when you consider the fact that I have paid the same for an iPod. :-)

Oh. You never mentioned the FULL TIME, **FREE** WIRELESS access to the web part.

I'm buying a Kibble tomorrow!

Yes, it is a fabulous device and service. I am somewhat of a Luddite myself and have resisted these (and other kinds of) devices for years. But, I think Amazon has hit a home-run with this one.

Check it out on Amazon.com. It also has built in dictionary for instant 'look-ups' as well as full time link to Wikepedia (as long as you have the wireless turned on).

There's a QWRTY keyboard, a 'home' button, a 'search' button, a 'font size' button... that sort of thing. The more I use it the more I love it. It is truly amazing.

I agree. There's nothing like holding a book. Besides....I have a whole bunch of really cool bookmarks.

I thought so too until I finally gave in. The advantages are so great that I am totally sold. Like I said above, I am a book person from the word go. I have collected, read and loved books all my life. Still do. But, this thing does for books what the iPod did for the old hand cranked RCA record player.
