Grandma announced this evening that on Armistice Day her mother was 2 months pregnant with her. She is named Renee Sylvia after one of the people who lived where my great grandfather was billeted in France. My great grandfather was at the Somme. I have set a personal best record by throwing up 9 times in 7 hours. Why aren't I thin?! Poor beast has changed my sheets and cleaned the toilet floor. I was also sick on it again after she went to sleep and got my bedroom carpet too. Washing machine is on for the third time, and needs to run again. Have been dementedly busy with work and Tina and Dan's wedding (which was great). Today I got up early and rinsed paint rollers, went out at lunch time and bought a thing for cleaning the outside of windows, came home and mowed the front lawn, shifted 1/3 of the mulch pile with a pitchfork, baked a cake and posted the wedding cake recipe to ( Read more... )

On Saturday morning I put a second coat of paint on the spare room. It took four hours (painting and flu bad combo). Tonight I got a third coat of paint up in two hours so it is done. curtain rail up tomorrow tonight. Took day of annual leave. Got up at 7am. Cleared out spare room, took down curtains, removed switch surrounds, removed curtain rail, plastered holes, started washing ceiling. Nos911 (aka my hero) and David (hero2) arrived at 11 and helped wash walls and paint ceiling. We also got one coat of cream paint on the walls and painted the wardrobe door. ( Read more... )

I am planning a trip to Heck (a German Pork Butcher in Burnside) on Saturday morning. They have lovely ham, sausages, beef jerky, kielbasa, mortadella and pork in a jar (forgot the word, but my Dad says it is very good, like pork pie filling).
