The real problem is some young adults don't think before they act. Now he has an arrest record. Now he has to hire an attorney. Now he has to fight the system. All for a stupid question. If he had a good "political" question it might have been worth it. Even if his ultimate goal is litigation (i.e. a supreme court case) he has a huge uphill battle.
The "Bong Hits for Jesus" case (although distinguishable by the fact that it was a high school student at a high school event) shows the state has a right to limit speech in an educational setting (especially if that speech is disruptive).
I applaud his Mayhem, but one of the keys to Project Mayhem is to not get caught. Remember, that is how Bob was killed.
