Last Saturday was baek-il, the Hundred Days, a traditional milestone. Basically the old Korean ways of celebrating "yay! my child didn't succumb to infant mortality!". Jessie and I went to visit my Mom on Long Island. She's still hanging on, taking it easy and doing well. He speaks!

Well, he's definitely not crying. It's definitely ooh's and ohh's, recognition and smiles, and pre-verbal sounds. It's a cliche that every parent thinks "oh my child is a genius", but the pediatrician was very happy at his last checkup -- he's making these sounds two months earlier than the norm.

Less than 8 weeks. We have been nesting, although Jess is the prime mover.

Maybe it's denial; maybe it's plain ignorance; but I'm more and more plain happy. The little kick through her tummy fills up my heart. I want to meet this little boy.
