Dreams

I was watching Oprah last night and saw this kid who raised close to a million dollars so that wells can be built in Uganda. Another kid was caught in a crossfire and was hit in the eye. hello xena. i saw that episode too last night. yeah it was indeed very touching. i think all the kids are great but i was most touched by Mattie Stepanek, the one with muscular dystrophy. ive been following his progress from the first time i saw him on tv and that was like years ago. I hope he is doing well.

we may not be able to raise a million pesos to save cancer patients or create a foundation to send kids to school but each day that you live, you do make a difference... you touch other people's lives with a smile that you flash at the person next to you, the lunch or coffee that you share, the time you spend emailing other people or listening to their problems, the seat that you give up for someone in the MRT... these are little things, yes. nevertheless they are still acts of kindness which can lead to something bigger in the future.

hmmm.. i guess everyday we are bombarded with talks of cynicism, of people telling us we cant do it. then it got into our heads and a day came when we actually believed them.
