My previous post confirmed that I was one of those that was hit on January 22nd, but I figured I'd make a more substantial post given I played this game for over 5 years. All I can say this is the very best way to finally "leave" FFXI for good. I'm not referring to getting banned or intentionally quitting, but actually sit down and look at the pro/cons and balancing out what your whole game experience has been ( ... )

I can guarantee you that if everyone in this game found an exploit they would take full advantage of it to get ahead, get rich, get gear, etc. What you did is only human. Getting the upper hand in something is not new to the world. So don't be hard on yourself if you are. The ban count shows that it is the truth behind it. And I'm sure there are thousands more people SE didn't get to get that will be banned in a second wave.

Good luck with anything you do in real life. :)

A lot of poeple say that not wanting to get banned for duping salvage is like saying "its not my fault the bank was made robable".. I say its like having a hot 18 year old SLLAMMMIN girl on ur bed naked screaming for you to fuck her.. What are you gonna do??

Yeah thats what I thought, I don't know you but its too bad u got banned when it wasn't really deserved, I duped twice in 1 and only run, got 0 items not even alexandrites... No ban luckily, GL in life yo

Sorry to hear you got banned. From the gist of this post it sounds like you won't be coming over to WoW, which is just as well. It is very addictive.

Yea, I was just kidding about the whole WoW thing in my previous post. But, hey who knows. Maybe I will pick it up somewhere down the line. :p

As a fellow permaban LM-17 moving on, I found this post therapeutic just to read. I think the biggest thing is just accepting the consequences of previous actions and realizing that there is more beyond FFXI, as emotional as losing such a good toon is after 5 years. I've also been offered mules accounts and I would be lying if I said it wasn't tempting, but I guess to look at things from a broader picture, it is best to move on.

Best of luck with Nursing School and everything else in life.

When B-day happened, I had a lot to say about the whole morality issue behind what went down as well as the state of FFXI endgame. But, after reading your post (which was really great to read), you summed up a lot of what I had to say so I figured to approach the issue from a more personal angle.
