The actual plot of this episode is pretty borzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...sorry, I just fell asleep for a second. Yeah, it's boring.
But Mulder and Scully! Are so married!
It bothers me, too, that Scully gives they keychain away. WTF, Scully? I love that thing so much that I bought a replica of it. But really, I think she only gave it to Doggett so they could have that scene at the end. I think the intention was always to give it to Leyla, because Uncle Frank is such a softy that he wanted to do as much for her (and by extension, the rest of the fans) as possible. In fact, I always tear up when they give Leyla the keychain at the end.
Someone on Haven used to make them, I'm not sure if she still sells them through there. Her keychains do pop up on eBay pretty regularly too (which is probably where she primarily sells from now). They're beautiful! I love mine.
It's very hard to hear on my TV, but in a theater it's apparently really audible (this is what Philes who saw it in 1998 told me, anyway). I can turn it up and still hear it, though! Mulder smiles right after she says it.
I feel this episode was meant to be a trial run for how the show could be without Mulder and Scully... The answer is clearly, "boring." Why didn't they listen?
I didn't know about the history of the Leyla character the first time I watched. In fact, the first time I watched, I didn't remember her at all afterward.
I think it's terrible that they used so many of DD and GA's last episodes together trying to launch the 'new' show. They should have been getting into some seriously epic conspiracy stuff or giving us some last hurrahs with M&S.

I think the tribute to Leyla Harrison is a very nice gesture from CC & Co but damn the character is so annoying. Another case of nice idea, poor execution. At this point, I'm sadly used to it.
I’m pretty sure everyone will agree that Mulder taking Scully to Lamaze classes is the best thing about this episode? They’re so married and he is so the baby daddy. *happy sigh* Yep, pretty much! The only thing that spoils it really is that Mulder is being cute and helpful and supportive, and Scully is whining about Doggett. We get it, writers. He's apparently more important than our favorite duo and their miracle baby. WHATEVER.
And any scene involving them I adore, except maybe the bickering at the end - its cute and married-coupley but its more the fact that Scully is in denial about seeing the space-ship in FTF when she clearly says “I saw it” as its flying away, and well, I’m bitter.I'm bitter, too! What the hell? I get that Scully is in denial a lot, almost to the point of it being ridiculously funny (though mostly just ridiculous), but
( ... )
Mulder is being cute and helpful and supportive, and Scully is whining about Doggett. Yeah I didnt realize how much "talking up Doggett" they do until I rewatched. I'm really over it.
BWAH. That is a terribly cruel joke, but I'm laughing anyway. LOL! That was the idea.
I kind of want to like Leyla, she's cute, but on the other hand she's also a little annoying. And the case... well, with M&S it would've been a normal MOTW case, but here it's just boring. Proof again that the XF can only the the XF with Mulder and Scully.
I really like Doggett, but I HATE that Scully gives him the keychain. I understand the sentiment behind it, but still. Hate.
Oh, and I would've loved to see the Lamaze class, too. A whole episode of M&S being all married and cute and doing Lamaze and picking out baby names. Yeah, I would've watched that.
