The only reconstructionist Temple i could even possibly be able to find is in Amherst.

Kelly--Mazal tov on your decision to become a Jew. As a second generation Reconstructionist who also feels comfortable in Reform, Renewal, and even Orthodox settings, I have experienced the Reconstructionist movement as being the most progressive, inclusive, intellectually stimulating and intellectually honest of the major streams of Judaism. Reconstructionist communities are warm, welcoming, down-to-earth and committed to social change and a deep spirituality. I highly recommend the book Exploring Judaism: A Reconstructionist Approach by Jacob Staub and Rebecca Alpert, as well as the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation(JRF) website: www4.jrf.org (this new interactive version of the site in in beta testing right now, but you can see the tremendous resources available, as well as on the older version of the site (www.jrf.org).

I've also heard wonderful things about the Amherst congregation.

Wishing you Joy on your Jewish journey!
