i always ask cashiers how their days are going. cashiering is such a boring job. even though you're in contact with a lot of people, you never really get to talk to them. people treat you like an extension of the cash register, another piece of the machine, and expect you not to exhibit any human traits, and if you do, it's in "very poor taste" and

work sucks. i am usually doing pretty good but when people ask how i am i usually say "fine" or "allright" since i'm well aware that most people aren't feeling so hot for some reason and i don't want to rub it in.

also, i too love when people are honest and it seems out of the ordinary.

ugh, i work at dunkin donuts &i honestly feel as though customers see
me as a gigantic cup of coffee with eyes &a voice box . &it is completely
true when we have to say, 'i'm doing GREAT, how are you ?!' even though i've
probably had the shittiest day in my entire life . i mean come on : coffee
burns, sugar EVERYWHERE, milk &cream stains, jelly EVERYWHERE, etc. etc.
anyways, it's nice to know that there are some people out there that actually
care about the person serving their coffee . it's so funny that people would
even begin to think about being rude to their server, because we could easily
tamper with their precious goods ( although i have never done that ) .

My job fucking rules. I get to play on the internet, holla at cute mall chicks, play with cell phones, and chill all day. And I get hourly plus commission.

But the one thing that irks me is when someone asks me for something for a phone my company doesn't sell. Then they usually get mad at me for not having it. Ok that's all. Oh and I get asked for directions to stores that are two feet away all the time.

yes!! i always try to talk to cashiers because it does suck having to ring people up all day and feel like a robot. all my friend make fun of me though and are like "wooahh.. is personable lindsay gonna come out???" im so glad i momentarily work in a print shop and don't have to deal with customers. i do have to deal with a bunch of boys thinking im a retard all day though... eh..
