@#$%&!

band and drumline used to be my escape. my catharsis. and now it seems to be added to the list of things that just stress me out.

drumline was a hobby of mine. and i mean that it was. certain people have turned drumline into a job, and not something i do because i enjoy it. it has become a chore and a task instead of an avocation.

and now it seems ( Read more... )

i don't do things that you have to commit to very often for exactly this reason. you can't quit when things suck and you don't feel like staying any more. you are forced to endure the entire rest of this year, and therefore your decision on whether or not to stay should be delayed until next year, when you have to choose. in the meantime, be thinking about it.

aside from all of that...more essentially,
problems with other people can be solved very easily. if you don't like what someone is doing, and it's not something you're going to stand up and stop, simply forget about it. thinking about things for which you will not take action just prolongs and provokes further emotional responses. chillax and enjoy who you can enjoy. forget about the others.

if there is not a net benefit in doing something, refrain from doing it.

there inlies the problem. i bring it up and attempt to fix it, but practically no one listens. its not that i am complainging without trying to fix it, its just that nothing ever gets done TO fix it. even after its been brought up.

Don't quit!

Being in band for 4 years (actually 8 by Newsome standards) will considerably improve your high school transcript. Giving up shows colleges that you can't handle 4 years of a vigerous study. You've gotten this far, might as well finish it up.

I'm sure you still have fun on friday nights, right? Being an upperclassman on the line makes it more frustrating, but I'm sure it'll get better.

I mean, come on, you wouldnt want to sit with the losers in the rest of bleachers and pay to get in at games, would you? heh.

I feel the same way about band in general. I'm debating on whether to do it in college or not. I was going to but if it's going to be like right now, then I decided that hell, why not stick with it until the end? =) <3333
