"You coming?" he asks over his shoulder and you break into a grin, because well, you really weren't too sure what you were supposed to do... you're not quite ready yet to assume that you should follow him everywhere. Though that's all you ever want to do, really.

Ah, Ethan, I love, love, love this depiction of the early B/J relationship! And one of the things I most love (other than the sexual interaction) is how you throw in these little character traits that are *so* Brian and Justin. Like this one, Justin wanting to follow Brian everywhere. That's so perfect. And you show us things about those early days that we never saw in the series, for instance, Brian sitting with Justin and drinking/smoking weed, even *talking* to him. How many of us have wondered whether they ever talked? And Brian even telling Justin he would be staying the night--perfectly in character, yet so sweet and such a foreshadowing of the relationship to come!

I gotta tell you, I'm actually really enjoying writing this season 1 stuff. Out of the bazillion fics I've written, only a handful of them ever took place in season 1, and so this is kind of a new thing for me. But man, I'm liking it :P

Though I am finding it challenging - I feel like I have to be cautious not to "give too much away" too early on and to bring Justin back to that level of (im)maturity he had at the beginning of the series, pre-bashing. So I'm especially appreciative of your specific feedback about characterization - thank you for that :)

And I'm glad you liked the part with Brian asking Justin to stay the night. That act fulfilled the second part of Gio's challenge - to tie in a sexual "first" with basically an emotional "first". As I'm working through what I want to do for the upcoming fics, I admit that part of the challenge has become the hardest! lol! But hey, I love a challenge!

Oh, this was wonderful. I’m loving this series and so glad you decided to take up the challenge. I can’t imagine it in better hands. This was so hot, but like all your fics, it has an almost ethereal quality about it. Such a joy to read. And did I mention hot?!! Wow, just really well done.
