I was shocked! I don't know what they use in the coating on those. There must be a lot of oils along with sugars or something. It obviously isn't very "friendly" so to speak if you are trying to count calories.
I will spend an extra 15 minutes on that treadmill today to make up for those stupid things I ate last night. grrrrrr
I just read up on the coating and there is very little yogurt in them... It is mostly sugar and oil like I suspected and posted earlier to you. Oh and get this.
Dont forget, nuts are *very* high in calories also (Probley more than the so called yogurt). But there a good source of protein and good non saturated fats. Plus i believe almonds also have calcium in them too.
Mebbe not an ideal choice for a low calorie snack, but definitly ok as part of a healthy diet.
1/4 cup of almonds is about 130 calories and is packed full of protein. I just had ran an intense hour on the treadmill and done an intense 40 minutes of free weights. I needed the protein especially after doing the weights. It is not always just about the calories. Right after you do weights you need some protein.
I have lost a total of 20 lbs since the end of December and by working out and not restricting my calories to a starvation mode diet. I am aware of what nuts have in them as a whole. But the coating on those yogurt covered snacks are EVIL
Sorry, i didnt mean to imply it was about the calories. I took your post to mean that you were saying the almonds as well as the covering was unhealthy- and my reply was concerned with saying that yes, almonds have high calories as well as the yogurt, but they have the added benifit of protein and other goodness. The covering does sound evil- sugar and oil, but i was merely pointing out that some of the calories were from the nuts too, but not in an unhealthy way as they are high in protein etc.
Kudos for losing the 20 lbs though! Ive lost about 18 kilo's- no idea what that is in pounds- so i get how hard it is! Good luck reaching your goal!
Are you working out with your weight loss? I am doing cardio 4 times a week for an hour and then weights 3 times a week. And of course I have to keep making each session more and more intense to keep challenging myself as I get more and more fit.
I eat very very clean. Those candy covered yogurt almonds were a rare thing to purchase and are not something I usually eat. I do usually eat RAW almonds and I do eat yogurt though. I am eating a very clean and balanced diet. I have lost 9 kilos (20 lbs) in just about 2 months.

Also, keep an eye on yogurt-covered snacks; some are more like candies in disguise. One cup yogurt-covered raisins: 750 calories. One cup yogurt-covered pretzels: 391 calories
