I love the way this intercuts between the present and the past. And the use of POV is perfect.

That scene you wrote with Justin smiling at Brian because he loved his work the best? Reminded me of the scene in 509(?) where Briwn said his work was exquisite. Justin's shit-eating grin is priceless.

And the part where Brian asked Justin not to come because it fucks everything up? I was about to cry or thought Justin would and then you had Brian ask Justin to come to the house, making the opening night of Babylon mean nothing and Justin coming home everything. Like Brian saying, "Yeah, I'm opening my club tonight - *yawn* - but all i care about is going home to Justin."

Can't wait for part 3.

It kinda sucks that LJ didn't show me this on my fpage, but the good news is I found my way here. And read it (duh). And I love it (double duh)

I love Justin with a plan. Surprisingly enough, I kinda love your Melanie, too. Probably because she knows Mikey and Linds and is helping Justin, and as long as Justin is on top of everything, I'm happy.

Brian coming to the art show is cute beyond words, not his actual coming but, you know, all of it.

“I wasn’t sure you’d come.”

“I’ve never missed one of your shows.”

“Yeah, this is only the third one in six years.”

“And I’ve been at all three.”

“In fact, I don’t think the first one counted.”

“I count it.” And then he kissed me. Hard. So awwww and squee and awww;-)

I was pouring myself a shot of Brian’s best Scotch when I noticed Lindsay was staring at the sofa in what looked like shock. I turned and almost dropped the glass. Brian was sitting next to Justin and Jenny - fuck, he was draped around Justin and Jenny, holding her little hand and making faces at her while Justin leaned ( ... )

OMFG XIE.

you do some shit so well it's scary.

there's this

Like, someday I’m going to figure out why I thought that having a wife who was his number one fan wasn’t enough, I had to have his best friend be Jenny’s father. Serious lapse in judgment. Fucking maternal hormones.

when i can't stop laughing...and thinking...how the fuck can i like melanie. i don't like melanie, and now...i like melanie...wtf?

and this
And then just when he finished the twelfth, wishing there was a way to unsend them.

sometimes, when justin's "onto" brian... it's just so much fun to watch. you just know justin's right.

and then justin really knowing him
then he came back with some bullshit about the nature of time and the universe, I knew he’d started writing this as a tragedy. There wasn’t any point in arguing with him, so I didn’t. That’s the whole thing about the plan. I needed one, because normal stuff just doesn’t work with Brian.

and being smart and cool about it.

but he’s, you know, a comic book geek who can spend quality time with Gus ( ... )

I don't know how I made it over to your journal, retread maybe, but I read parts 1 and 2 tonight. I just had to tell you how fantastic it is.

I love Melanies snark. and Justins characterization is perfect, and I love how he totally has Brians number. This is just wonderful.

Hope you don't mind me stopping by and adding my comments.

So this is how it really happened. He all missed Justin in Babylon during the reopening party, but there was agreement between him and Brian that he (Justin) was going to wait Brian back at the house and they will have their own little private party at home!*) Yay! Now I see why Brian was so happy dancing)) I love this omitted part of the scenario! BTW, was it not you who was a play writer’s assistant? I think so

Amazing chapter! I was laughing when reading Melanie’s POV; it is a very light, very funny, the most wonderful story! Thanks for writing it!

*warmest appreciative hugs*
