Tally of weekend injuries

May 27, 2008 07:27

Burned upper arm whilst taking cookie sheet out of the oven.

Hit head on the bathroom sink while standing up after adjusting shoe.

Bumped different part of head getting into friend's car.

Became violently ill Sunday night, but not from bachelorette party "fun" (or even my brother's birthday celebration), but from cousin's 11-month old daughter.

Holy crap! I'm glad you survived, after all that! Let's hope the coming weekend won't be as hazardous!

Thanks! Barring exposure to infectious babies, I should be fine!

Hhmmmm ... you may have invented a new psychological disorder ... the tally ho.

No offense. ;-)

I am glad to see the frequency of your accidents seems to be on the downside.

Do you pull out the rack in your oven slightly before reaching in? I usually avoid the forearm burn but my thumb and fingers take a beating because I'm always misplacing my oven mitt.

Hey, I may have a new invention for people like us ... long sleeve oven mitts!

I don't remember now if I pulled out the oven rack or not. It was good for a "d'oh!" moment, though. Hopefully I'll pay more attention next time.

If I had the talent, I'd knit an oven mitt or two for you.

Oh come now. The range of your talents and abilities never cease to amaze me. ;-)

For long-sleeved mitts, just follow the instructions and keep on knitting.

BTW, I never told you how much I loved that Blackadder skit. *LOL* I think my favorite lines (those I remember) were, "Don't get drunk and let him shag you on the veranda," and "She was only the iron-monger's daughter."

Later, Chipmunk! :-)

Thank you, sweetheart. The worst of it was over by the time I wrote this post. The next few days were about getting my energy back and overcoming fears of certain foods making me sick. Mom brought me sick food, plus sugary goodness, which helped. I showed her some "Black Books", my new favorite Britcom, and she really liked it.

I'll post a proper update soon, but just wanted to say a belated thank you for the good wishes! They must have helped!
