So Queensland is very close to passing altruistic surrogacy laws that would allow gay and lesbian couples, and single people as well as heterosexual couples to access or offer altruistic surrogacy and adoption.

This has always been my issue with it. I think society does still, by and large, take issue with single-parents at least to some extent. But how many people are there in the world who probably should never have been parents? To put yourselves through the process of becoming parents as a gay or lesbian person, has got to speak volumes about how much you want and will care for your children. People make me cranky.

Exactly! You can pretty much guarantee that any child born to a gay couple, or a single person who has decided to have a baby, is going to be born into a family of love where they are not only wanted, but REALLY wanted.

Never is a baby born into a family like that going to say 'yeah, I was an accident...'. Never is a baby born into a family like that simply a result of '...oh, shit. Guess we'd better keep it then...'

These things are not explained because they can't be explained! People who say them are just appealing to the majority of society's attraction toward social norms.

Haha if only I was as passionate about all things. Most things, people ask my opinion and I'm like '...i am indifferent...'. Which stands up really well in parliament :P

Also if only I could speak as well argumentatively and inspiringly as I write.

Hope work eases up for you :)

I actually give a lot of props to the tax law changes, because it's a BIG change. It allows gay couples to access things like the couples/family limit to the medicare levy surcharge (so that if one partner earns a lot, and the other not much, they can avoid the surcharge, etc ( ... )
