Though it does bring rise to an incidence of hypocricy, your heart truly seems to be in the right place, though not all is what it truly seems. He tried to help the both of you stop hurting. He really did care about how the two of you made each other suffer. He confided in me a few things that I'm sure you thought weak in a man. you really can't expect Mike to quit...just like that. I've been in the same situation, except on mike's end. It's not magical, you can't quit with the snap of a finger. It's incredibly hard, and if you love him like you say, you'll give him time. I'm still trying to quit for Cory, but I can't quit for HIM, no matter how much I love and care for him. I have to quit for me, and not for anyone else. And so does Mike. Encourage him to get patches or something, but don't push him, it'll only make things worse. The only thing you can do right now is to ask him not to smoke around you. I don't smoke around Cory because I know he highly dislikes it. I respect him enough for that. I just don't have enough willopwer to quit right now, and it might be a while before I do. Don't sweat the little things, doll.
