I got up to Chapter 12. And I had to stop reading because OMG THE HORROR THAT IS THIS BOOK.
But since EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE is talking about this book, I really want to read the whole series just for the lulz. But I don't know if I can make it through.
I read it. All. All 3 books. I thought "Hey, a really trashy book might be fun." I can honestly say that this is the first time EVER in my life that I have not really cared about not finishing something. I usually get so into books that I like that I can read an entire book in a few hours. It took me WEEKS to read this whole trilogy. I mostly only stuck it out because of the controversy. The main girl makes me want to kill myself. The guy makes me want to kill HIM.
Also, have you seen Reading with a Vengeance? http://readingwithavengeance.tumblr.com/page/6 It's got chapter-by-chapter commentary, if anyone needs a refresher, and also some interesting discussion with each entry.
This sounds like just what I need to give myself the motivation to keep reading it. I started it for a reading project on tumblr where I read it and bitch about it the whole time. I got to the fourth page. It took me like an hour because I kept having to stop and explain to tumblr why it was the worst.
Hahahaha, now I'm just imagining tumblr sitting next to you, saying stuff like, "Why do you keep banging your head on the desk?" And you kneeling down to tumblr (because in this imagining tumblr is a tiny child) and saying, "Well, tumblr, when a book is truly horrific..."
I keep seeing the books leering at me every time I go into Target, and I keep thinking, "How much would they have to pay me to read that piece of crap?" (Okay, yes, since I haven't read a single word, it may be brilliant, but all my little friends all agree "sucks".)
The answer, BTW, probably involves Benedict Cumberbatch and whipped cream.

I'll just go from memory and bitch about the chapters in order if you like though? Sorry. I'm not reading that book ever again.
