LJ Idol Season 11 Week 8: My True North

I hate everything about winter. I hate having to wear long sleeves, sweaters, and jackets. I don't want to have to layer clothes to have to keep warm. I have no desire for the temperatures to ever get below 40 degrees, let alone 32 degrees. Never mind the 10 degree windchill.  When it gets dark at 5 PM, I find it absolutely depressing. I know exactly what you mean! I also find those places fascinating, as cold as they may be. At some point, even their summer is cold, I believe.

I've looked up some of those places on google maps, but of course that's not at all the same thing.

If I'm not mistaking, warm in these places is in the 40s and 50s.

I am such a warm weather person too. I don't even want to go on an Alaska Cruise! LOL (Well, I kinda sorta want to! LOL)

I'll be in Whitehorse on Sunday and in the Yukon for most of the week. Like you, I'm not a fan of winter, but I do enjoy "visiting" the season. I'll be sure to post some pictures. This will be my 15th trip there, and I still haven't seen the Aurora, even though one of the places I go to is Watson Lake, YT, home of the Northern Lights Center. Maybe this time the odds will be in my favor.

I’ve been to parts of Alaska but not as far north as all that (and we went there on a cruise in late May, so the temps were mostly in the mid 60’s, lol). I understand the fascination though, and I hope one day you can get there!
