The safety issue is practically a nonissue here compared to at other schools. If you guys get a chance, look at the parents' listserv sometime; parents start talking about how unsafe things are, and they worry each other more and it all escalates until the parents who read the listserv are all convinced their babies are in danger of being shot whenever they venture out onto dangerous Williams Street

that's so true, both about the prejudices and the automatic assumption that if you don't need aid, you're obviously wealthy. i can attest to the fact that this is not the case, i just happen to fall into the gap of being just ok enough that my parents can afford this and my brother's education, but not so well-off that it's not an issue...the assumptions go both ways, i guess.

This is completely unrelated to your post, but you're the maintainer for the wesleyan community journal. Could you please turn off the ip logging option for the ACB posts? It basically removes any shred of anonymity.
