Thank you! I actually usually hate OCs, since fanfic.net scarred me with the Mary-Sue-age (pronounced Mary SEWAGE), but we don't exactly have a plethora of characters in the epilogue generation. So I was like, "What the hell. And, uh, HE'S AMERICAN."

Heh. I've found that when authors use OCs as supporting characters rather than wish-fulfillment Mary Sue protagonists, the results are usually much less disastrous. And no one can blame next-generation-fic writers for using OCs, because it seems like half of Hogwarts is now part-Weasley.

Absolutely! I haven't been reading a ton of nextgen fics, on account of I don't want to anything to influence my perception of Teddy/Fred/Victoire/whoever. But yeah, there's nothing more disappointing in thinking, "I'll write a Victoire/Rose fic! Oh. Wait." OCs are good. Yes.
