You just wrapped up about 80% of the thoughts that ran through my head whilst watching people at lunch today.
I also got criticized today for not "picking a clique" because I: 1. play bagpipes, yet am not a "band geek" 2. cheerlead, but am not in the "cheerleader" crowd 3. study my ass off and care about grades, but am not in the "smart prep" group 4. Go to church and respect my religion, but am not "a Jesus freak"
you were criticized for not picking a clique? can you not be a "social floater"? how wrong is that? i like how you don't fit in a category. only one of the many reasons why i love you. haha.
We have had this argument before, and you proceeded to get mad at me, so all I'll say is that I know and am friends with some of the "rednecks" at your school, and they are not ALL bad. Some of them are extremely nice, caring people that don't judge others. I really don't like stereotyping people. Just because some are assholes doesn't mean the whole group are assholes.
Anyways, gossip is the route of all evil. But, everyone has gossiped one time or another. I regret when I do it, and I try not to.
Blue Mountain has the favoritism too. A Nirvana shirt was offensive to our gym teacher, and some kid had to turn it inside out while there are indecent Abercrombie and Fitch shirts that are worn, and nothing is said to those souls, because their parents "generously donate" to the school.
As an added note, I guess I started a shwazoo trend. Yesssss..
you would not like the rednecks if you went to our school. the only reason why mark is nice to you is because you're not a "freak" (as he calls me). tell me when you find a nice redneck. i've tried to be nice to them but to no avail. all caring and potential generosity towards them has immediatly ceased.
i used to be friends with one of the biggest rednecks i know and he is also the biggest asshole i know... he thinks he's fucking king or soemthing... obviously he is not (phew!).
they're not even rednecks. true rednecks don't even realize that they are really rednecks because they think what they're doing is completely normal and everyone else does it.
they just do it to be cool and "accepted" because that's the most important thing in life.
very good point. i didn't even think about that. it's so funny how the have all this shit with confederate flags, too. do they not realize we live in pennsylvania, a northern state that was an enemy of the confederacy. aye carumba.
