My dad also had a vacation this week at the nearby Sedona Pines. I spent a good bit of time with him for a couple days. We hit up one of the shopping centers and did OK the Gila River casino - but he had to head back to New York much too soon. But I might see him longer over Christmas. Whew! I just arrived back in Phoenix for a badly needed breather. I go back to Seattle on the 28th, and I'll hopefully be much less busy for the rest of the year. But for now I need to get caught up on some Z's more than anything.

I just got an offer accepted on a condo in Renton, WA! It passed the inspection, and I still have to get it appraised and look over some other things, but it looks good, and the closing date is scheduled for 10/13. I took a large chunk of my weekends this summer looking at places, at least 30 condos over more than 2 months. One place I was about to ( Read more... )

Saturday we went to see another Diamondbacks game where they pwned the Braves 13-0. I was in the left field bleachers, where a home run ball landed maybe 10 feet away from us O_o Elsewhere, Barry Bonds hit his long-awaited homer #714 to tie Babe Ruth for 2nd all-time ( Read more... )

Tuesday night we went to the Padres/Diamondbacks game where the D'backs won 5-2. While at the park I was keeping an eye on the scoreboard for the other games, in particular the Yankees game, and saw that the Yanks were down 9-0 early. They later managed an improbable comeback to win 14-13 (!), which has to be some kind of record ( Read more... )
