Went surprisingly well. I was out three full days ahead of time, and excepting a mishap where I threw away my mp3 player, cell headphone, and two chargers, there was no horrible chaos or distress.
PS -- Have signed my ass up for mini_nanowrimo. I think signup ends today, so you might wanna check. Basically instead of 50K total count, it's a daily word count.
I'm figuring on working on that SGA gladiator thinger I told you about. Got a new bunch of plot detail worked out.
It's really not that hard, I promise, to set this stuff up. I did ours all by my lonesome in probably less than 20 minutes. I think it took me more time to walk up and down the stairs from one computer to the next than it did anything else.
Basically, I had a cable modem already, I bought a router and wireless card from Dell...watch for deals, especially at Best Buy, sometimes they have rebates that make this stuff VERY cheap...I installed the wireless card in my sons computer, it's basically a one click deal, put the disc in and followed exactly what it said. Presto, I had a wireless network. *is proud*
The stuff I bought was from NetGear, and I haven't really had any trouble with it at all.
If you find yourself in need of help once you get it all, give me a yell..I'll be glad to try and talk you through it. Good luck!
I wonder, is there any way to tell if my current modem is compatible with wireless? I doubt it is, since it's from the cable company and they want to charge people as much as humanly possible for different services, but...dude, that'd be cool.
*bounces* I hope it's easy. I really do. I would LIKE wireless!
I didn't have to buy a different modem, and the one that I have is 5 or so years old? Basically, the cable modem wire that used to be plugged into your computer now gets plugged into the router and off you go. And the wire I'm talking about is the one that looks like an oversized phone cord. Honestly, no one even asked me what kind of modem I have, so I'm thinking yours is going to be fine. *crosses fingers*

Do you think we'll get to see hollow-him-out man with his shirt off?
If we're suggesting a shirt off, can I add Mohinder to that list?
