So I'm 26 now. I wonder what this year has in store for me. I find it ironic that I worry about getting older, yet the reason I worry about getting older is that I don't feel like I have accomplished enough "grown up" things yet. Maybe I will never feel like I have accomplished enough. I keep forgetting about the big picture as to why I am here.

you know, you are so right. you can't follow a path just because that's how your family has gone. and you definitely must find yourself and develop yourself as a full human being before you marry someone and have kids, otherwise you're going to depend too much on your spouse or you kids to define who you are! that's what i learned from my parents. i'm so glad you're so determined to take control of your life.

It's hard to not be influence by those closest to you.
