So... classes have started, and my new challenge is to make myself a comfortable, productive and well balanced life while working from home. I've done very badly at this in the past, and I'm determined to do better this time. Having my income hanging in the balance may be good motivation: if I don't keep up in my classes I don't get unemployment. ( Read more... )

At the end of the final session, when they were thanking people, I suddenly heard my name: "...who organized the Sock Museum."

So I stood up, and I got a round of applause (and a few whoops!) all to myself. Blushing, but smiling. That was a good moment.

The cat was feeling lazy this weekend and would actually hold still for pictures. Usually she either dislikes the shutter noise and moves away, or gets fascinated by the camera or the red autofocus light and comes over to investigate -- too close to focus. But I have a couple of really nice shots now that give some idea of her rather complex ( Read more... )
