Britney got knocked up? Wow, that almost interested me for a second...

...but then I remembered that I don't watch TV for a reason. That reason is lack of caring.

I did watch the news, though, and it seems a lot more tame here than in America. Not once did they talk about Avian flu or terrorists. They did mention Iraq, but it was kind of in passing as they moved on to the riots in Paris.

The media cause/effect chain is as follows...

America as a whole isn't that stupid. We're just that materialistic. At the root, we are consumers, ever desiring and in pursuit of more and better everything. Rather than think for ourselves, we'd rather apply ourselves to keeping up with the Joneses, our ambition and greed creating the typical 90-mile-an-hour lifestyle America leads. At that pace, there's too much too keep up with already. Who has time to think for themselves? It's so much simpler to let media and the governement do the thinking for us, so we can free ourselves to think about how we can afford a new and bigger Plasma TV, a new and bigger SUV, a new and bigger house in the 'burbs, and so on, and so on...

"America, FUCK YEAH!!!"
