"Some would say that was overkill inasmuch as New York City is already the home of the world's largest public display built in commemoration of Islam: Ground Zero."

I do not agree with this statement the author made. What happened on 9/11 was not the commemoration of the Muslim faith. It was the act of extremism, just as there is extremism in every religious faith on this planet. An act of people who took their views, spun them, and went too far. Where there is humanity, there is the possibility for people to not understand the basis of their faith and take it too far. The overwhelming majority of Muslims are just trying to worship the way they choose. However, due to the act of a small group of extremists, this is the reputation that Muslim has gotten, resulting in deaths, beatings, and persecution of members of Islam. I might be assuming too much to say that 99% of Muslims are just trying to worship God. However, the news media isn't about spreading happy, positive information. That is very apparent.
