We tried to touch the sky,
and our words twisted in riddles,
as stars splattered
like incandescent paint on the abysmal ceiling of the earth.
The night hunts for our dreams
that we so frequently try to grasp onto and never forget--
but somehow they always slip from finger tips
like they were never really ours to keep.

Chicago is the forgotten city.

We're that place everyone visits, but never seems to catch attention for "where it's at". Here's the problem, most of the year in Chicago it's cold. The Summer versus the Winter changes the city. Dear Mr. President,

For eight years, since the day I moved back to the United States from Europe, I have waited for this moment. I have waited for the moment to be not only connect to my people, but connected to my country. It's taken far too long for me to find pride in these roots that I have. And you, Mr. Barack Obama, have changed that for me.
