bret easton ellis is a good choice; i think you'd definitely like him. i've read less than zero (in one night - they get you kinda hooked, real fast), american psycho, and the rules of attraction. all good ( ... )

I defnitely agree with the person above's recommendation of 1984. It was a bit hard to get into at first, but you just have to push yourself... it gets SO good. I couldn't even put it down, and I had to read it for school! I thought that was pretty cool. Another good one I've read for school was The Great Gatsby. Really good book.

Obviously anything by Palahniuk is good, but I think you already know that. :P Check out Haunted if you haven't yet though. It's like a collection of stories, and it has the story Guts in it, maybe you've seen it online?

Other books I like... The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (sp), The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, The Husband by Dean Koontz, Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs (another one I couldn't put down!), anything by Stephen King, etc.

I don't know if you've checked out any of the communities on LJ for book recommendations, but there are some good ones. I don't remember the exact names right now, but you can look in my profile if you like. :)
