Okay so, when I finish a major assignment and am aware that I kicked ass at it I get pretty stoked about going to school the next day. Though...not so much anymore. It's not school that I'm starting to loathe...it's the walk from the car to the building. The weather doesn't even bother me much and the UK campus is beautiful especially in the fall. Hahahaha!!!! What the fuck religion is this guy? Reminds me when Joseph and a few us were sitting at Starbucks and this guy in a fruity flower shirt and this other guy came up to us, passing out flyers for Hell and Heaven. So we made Joseph go ask him if watching porn was a sin...little did we know this would soon lead us to a HUGE lecture and then the guy telling Joseph that he goes to bed lonely at night. Hahahaha....I hate religions...I don't believe in a higher being and I certainly don't agree with being damned to hell because you're living a damned life to begin with.

Seriously...report that man...and he says everyone walking by him is sinning? Did he not know that his precious god doesn't like for others to condemn people? and what the fuck is wrong with him spitting on people and calling them whores? Is he a Johovah's Witness?

i agree with you. people like that are assholes. i myself haven't got the whole religion thing figured out just year, and being a catholic makes figuring it out even harder since it's so fucking complicated.

but just a clarification--
Though, if he/she was all powerful then he/she planned our fate? so wait...god's got the list of who goes and stays made up before we're created so wait...what free will again?in the catholic religion anyway (i don't know about other sects of christianity-- particularly the crazy ones), we believe that god exists outside of time. god is kind of a big deal, or so it would seem, and for him to be confined to the dimension of time would be stupid, so this actually makes sense. because he exists outside of time, he does know what will happen to every human being after they die because from where he stands, everything that has happened and ever will happened has already happened. god, that sounds complicated, but this logic is actually what sold me on the catholic religion specifically. i personally think ( ... )

I really like this idea. As you know I was raised in the Lutheran church which stresses fate so I've built up resentment toward that idea along with many others when christianity comes to mind. God existing outside of time makes a lot more sense.

Though, I can't help but question everything about religon constantly so I'm in a similar situation as you.

yeah, lutheranism is, well, weird. no offense or anything, but it was made up sort of because martin luther wanted to give a middle finger to the pope, which is why a lot of things (like the doctrine of predestination) make absolutely no sense and sound completely absurd. i think that catholic sect of christianity does a really good job of explaining exactly why christians believe what they do. in a sense, it's a very logical branch of christianity. never once have i asked a catholic priest why we believe in something and gotten the standard "because God says so" response. the reasons are always very logical. plus, the catholic church supports science, which is just fucking fantastic! i used to completely hate catholicism, but i branched out a little and returned to it once i found out other sects didn't believe in science.

hey, i know hes kind of a dork, and sometimes pompous, but there is this guy, kent hovind and he teaches about science of the bible, creation science, etc. while you may not agree with some of it, not all protestant sects neglect science :)

while the things that man says are awful, dont discredit all christians, please, true christians are not like that. and with salvation comes clear understanding of why God has rules against things like girls dressing provocatively or any secular things that go against the ten commandments. i wont try to explain it unless you want, because you wouldnt want to hear, and without the want, you wont understand. but please know, while the law must be followed, and Christ himself taught the law, its taught with loving compassion not crude ravings and the like!
