So. I got a call this morning. It was an old skipper of mine, He wants to know if I want to go up to Alaska and go fishing again. However, if I go, I'll be doing to my son exactly what my father did to me. Which I dont want to do. I'm not happy here, I want more, and I cant get it

You know, I don't know much about your relationship with your father, or anything at all, but I grew up with my father going out to sea. And right now while your son is so young, he'll never remember if you take a few longer trips right now. It might sound horrible, but it's what I grew up with. As long as you're totally there for him when you're home and spend as much time with him as you possibly can. I had a really close relationship with my dad until a few years ago, and that's for apmething entirely different. Just my two cents on that. My dad took quite a few long trips when my sister and I were little0and shorter ones as we grew up. He's been taking longer ones again, but yeah.
