I think they do, at least some of the time. Most of their fame comes from the fact that they were waving snarky signs at soldiers' funerals and Matthew Shepard's funeral, for example. I truly feel bad for the families of the people who're being buried; they don't deserve stupid crap like that at all. But, when it all comes down to it, what the Phelps family wants is attention, and I don't think it's wise to give that to them. They should fade away to the level of traces of pond sludge on the bottom of your shoe; gross to look at, but not important enough to pay attention to.

i goggled Matthew Shepard and omg, it was so sad.

i totally agree. the govt should just ignore them unless they really do something threatening. but, i felt disgusted when i was wikipedia-ing the church, esp. how the grandchildren of Fred Phelps was brought up.

like how Shirley Phelps-Roper allowed her son to trample on the American flag? wow. i wonder what happened to Fred Phelps's childhood that made him into who he is now.
