It's times like this I'd like an indoor cat.
And then I remember being woken up at 6:00 in the morning by the cat playing the "Slide Game" wherein you run across the wooden floor and skid to a stop, scrabbling for traction. Repeat ad infinitum, or until you see a bug.

where did breek come from? besides the "when a mama kitty loves a daddy kitty very much and..." joke, I mean srsly, was he a kitten from a shelter or somebody's knocked up alley cat you knew or what. he looks so healthy and facially proportional.

srsly u guyz... I got him from a family. They'd placed an ad: FREE KITTENS! I called in the morning, and they said they had pleeeeenty of kittens. I called again just before 5, when I was getting off work, and they said they had only one left(!). I asked them to please save it for me, and they said they would. I drove out to Fuquay-Varina, home of pretty cats, with lj user shazaminer. They showed me a very, very small grey kitten and warned me that this left-over, the last-picked kitten, was "a crier." I took him home, playing "A Plea for a Cat Named Virtue," telling him that's how I expected him to be (a nice sort of kitty who would make supportive songs for me) and that is how I procured a Breekface.
