YAY AWESOME THUNDERSTORMS I JUST SPENT AN HOUR ON THE SECOND FLOOR WATCHING THEM FROM MY OFFICE AND TOOK SOME VIDEO AND PHOTOS UNTIL MY DAMN CAMERA BATTERY DIED

Hah. Sounds like your power grid sucks as hard as ours does! Are you more likely to lose power from t-storms or snow/ice storms? Ice took ours out for 3 days once.

Actually it's pretty reliable. We don't get long outages or anything - and even during the giant east coast blackout some years ago we had power back sometime in the early morning.

What I want the UPS for though is for those tiny surges and split second power losses where your lights just flicker. Just enough to shutdown my computer ><
