rain rain, go away

Rain in the fall is pretty useless, isn't it?  The plants don't need it to grow, they're gearing down for winter.  Maybe the fish need it for their ponds, but couldn't we petition the powers that be and have them/it deliver rain in the spring and summer when it's useful?  I'd be cool with some snow in the winter to play in, too.

I'm w/ you on the rain- ugh. but I'd rather rain than snow around here, snow = ice = bad drivers. now, if we lived in Colorado... Bring on the snow! Vail Mountain, happy sigh...

Rain in the fall nurtures the roots, which do most of their growing over the winter. Rain in the fall replenishes shallow water tables & wells, lakes and creeks and streams which didn't get enough over the summer. Rain in the fall adds moisture to "dead" leaves and grass so they can be decomposed by hungry bacteria and fungi. But in Camelot, "the rain may never fall till after sundown." Don't accept any jobs in the Seattle area, my son. xoxo Mom
