So remember that hair community I've blathered on about for a while? Where we could organize hair by creators and textures (and possibly gender) so we don't get 20 recolors of the newest Peggy mesh? :D I think it'd be cool to open it up now, especially since I want to do that new Rose mesh and I've no desire to do 42 recolors and someone beats me

The LJ tag system is really cool, and it lets you sort of cross-reference everything. So you could sort the hair on a variety of levels, like: mesh creator, who did the recolor, gender of the hair, and even texture (i.e. pooklet, nouk, maxis-match). But it could also be cool to have a stickied post for each mesh creator (like peggy) so people could check which meshes have already been recolored, and people could comment if they were working on recoloring a new mesh. Does that make sense? I think maybe?

ANYWAY, this is a good idea. I'm excited.

That's true! I think that's what I was trying to say...I suppose there could be tags for creator, poster, gender, and texture, to fit a variety of needs.

And I was thinking that people could make WIP posts to let people know what hair they are working on.

That sounds like an awesome community. If you need any help, I'd love to do anything I could. I mean, it's not like I'm doing anything anyways while I wait for bits and pieces I need to repair my computer. I can't guarantee that all of my free time would be devoted to it, though, since my newly-acquired boyfriend garners a lot of my attention. :P But still, I would love to lend a helping hand. Or pinky, at the very least.

As for input, I agree completely with charterzard and don't really have anything else to add. A pretty banner is definitely needed, though; makes the community more inviting. :]

My icon is expressing how excited I am - so excited, in fact, that I am bludgeoning those around me in a "let's do this thing" type way.

Yayyy, I would adore being a mod. :D I'll be sure to carry around a whacking stick and act all pretentious, too. :P You'll definitely need more mods than just me, though, otherwise I would probably just sit around flailing at all the things I had to do. xD

Considering I am a ridiculously loyal fan of Zelda, your icon makes me all sorts of happy. :3

It sounds like an amazing idea! I would love to contribute in any way! :D
And I agree with Charterzard about using tags and making a main post for each mesh creator, it would make things easier both for those who just want to download a particular mesh and for creators. And *maybe* there may also be a sort of 'request corner'.
As for the banner/header it would be nice to make a little contest to choose the most fitting banner/header and, maybe, default icon too. Oh my, I've so many ideas and I don't know if what I just wrote makes any sense, I am not even sure if I am writing in English, Italian or both! X)

I am glad you liked the idea, I think it would be best to make a sister community for requests, and then post the fullyfied request on the main comm too. But, as Pixelcat said, I think a sricky post would be easier to mantain!

Hmm. The request corner does sound really good. If it can't be worked into this one, perhaps it could be made into a sister community?

I was just thinking about how the request corner would work and it might be easier to turn it into a sister community but then again I know almost nothing about how LJ communities work, so it might be easier to do a request area than I think.
