I have a question for all you Harry Potter fans out there: Do Hermione's parents love her at all? Do they even care about her a little bit? They're so ready to just send her off to boarding school and then never see her even during breaks because she either stays at the castle or goes to Ron's house. I'd like to ask that of J.K. Rowling.

Hmmm. Actually, I've never thought about it. I'm sure they love her.

no, with the negation of "love" it doesn't make any sense. its just artistic.

They're really under-developed characters, I agree. It's hard to say whether they love her or not, I mean, they are orthodontists. Maybe, they love her so much, that they want her to become her own little person and reach her full potential in the magic world. Maybe, they're living vicariously through all her magical experiences, and they just watch from the side-lines so they don't get too involved. Maybe, they hate her. I do not know. That's a good question for J.K., definitely the best I've heard so far.
Wow, I actually properly capitalized this...huh.

as someone who writes hermione, i think they love her, they just don't understand her. they're both dentists. when we see them together in diagon alley, they seem fine with who their daughter is, but that doesn't mean that they really get her.
