I found out today that my PhD degree will probably be signed by Arnold. That's right, my degree will be signed by a freaking actor. How fucking insulting.

As an actor i find some meager amount of offense to this statement. I'm insulted i'm even put in the same class group as Ahnold (aside from the fact that he's a movie "star" and i'm not). I can understand the insult in having your PhD signed by someone you feel is less then adequate to sign it (i share that insult as well, i'd be pissed too) but i ask you modify the statement to "will be signed by a freaking action star who is nearly 60 and still appears nude in his movies" because that's TRULY the insulting thing.

(lol this is all in jest of course, just trying to remind you have one friend who IS an actor ;-)

Point well taken. Maybe I wasn't as clear as I should have been. I am insulted that this particular actor will be signing it. In fact, I'd be pissed if any of a number of people were responsible for signing it. It has little to do with being an actor, or an entertainer in general (even a republican). Rather its someone who helped make a circus out of politics, and now when someone looks at the diploma they will be more astonished by the fact he signed it than anything else. Something I am working really hard for will be forever stained with juvenile world of current California politics.
