I'm not a big gift person. I certainly do not mind receiving gifts, but I actually do not mind if I don't. I guess it comes from not getting much of anything cool when I was younger. In general, I am not much a gift giver. It is not because I'm cheap, un-thoughtful, or just lazy (although some people may think that

I am on the board of a nonprofit called Healing Watersthat takes people with HIV/AIDS on wilderness adventures such as rafting or kayaking. It helps these people not only escape the confines of a city and a demanding and often debilitating drug routine, but also reconnects them to nature and the life-affirming outdoors, and with others who are trying to find beauty and meaning in their lives despite their terrible illness.
