How do you spell 'tornadoe'?

Alright, 9 hours after leaving this morning we have succeeded in making it... back to our apartment. Rebkos, I blame this one entirely on you. Apparently you coughed some of that bad aviation karma onto us.

There were thunderstorms and tornados around Dallas today. We were supposed to fly into Dallas this morning.
Hilarity ensued... )

also, i take it it's prohibitively expensive to flip off aa and rebook tickets on another airline?

i just find the notion of shifting a trip by 5 days because of aa's incompetence to be revolting

a) It's not just AA, the tornados mean no one has anything available until something like Thursday anyhow. And booking at the last minute is expensive

b) It's only a 2 days drive if you're willing to drive continuously all day and all night. I fail to see how that option beats going back home and using those days for more fun/profitable purpose.

So, yes, it's revolting, but since the talk at UT Tyler has to be rescheduled anyhow and we'd probably have to miss the Hertz dinner regardless... it's just not worth the extra hassle and money as compared to just shifting our plans around. But, yes, I agree the principle is ridiculous and if it matters more in the future we'll probably have to do look for other workarounds.
