yeah, I've been consuming tangerines all week and it occurred to me today that this used to be a lot more exciting. Not that I mind having easy access to them, it's just sad that the novelty is gone...

It's funny that you write this, because I am exactly the same way - and I didn't fully realize that not everyone was like this until I started living with Lee - when I discovered that some people will actually buy overpriced shampoo and mouthwash at CVS when you can get the exact same things for a lot cheaper at Target (although Target is a bit of a drive, so you have to take that into the calculation - still, I try to go once a month and stock up on everything then).

My dad used to have a saying that might apply... "A man will spend $2 for a $1 item he really needs. A woman will spend $1 for a $2 item she doesn't need at all". ...of course, there is still fun in the bargain hunting for things one *does* need, like food.
