I've been brewing a collection of random aspects of new mom-hood that I thought I'd share with the interested. So here's a list of things I didn't expect, that no one ever told me (why oh why?) or that I was told and never properly believed... ( in no particular order, the good and the ugly.... )

I don't recall if you've mentioned them before, but have you checked out La Leche League? They are a group devoted specifically to helping new mothers breast feed. They can work miracles on helping with latching issues and, probably, excessive biting.

Yeah, I've heard of them. I've gotten his latch checked out by a couple lactation consultants early on and they weren't able to do much to improve it. I think Sammy is just too strong for his own good -- seriously, if I give him my finger to suck on, he can make the finger hurt. Anyhow, it's not nearly as bad now as it used to be (hence me whining about postpartum rather than entire 1st year...)
