[Reid is sitting on top of the youth center, knees drawn up. His arms are around his knees and he looks a bit like a little kid.]Morgan is gone home. I know that logically I should be happy for him. The team needs him. Garcia needs him but I'm here and things have gone crazy here. She won't listen to reason. I'm trying to help her see but--I could ( Read more... )

Of course. I managed for several years without Morgan around. Things are just less familiar now. Someone still has to take care of the youth center.

[ooc: just fyi today (tomorrow by this post's time frame)Reid is popping out of the City for a couple of days for a S6 canon update as well!]

Doesn't mean that it's easy having him gone.

[ooc; I'm... not going to be around, I'm kind of on hiatus, but thanks for letting me know anyways! :D ]

You know him? He's a friend of mine from home. I'm Doctor Spencer Reid...not that you have to call me Doctor. Just Reid or Spencer. Whatever [Okay so he's come a long way but pretty girls still frazzle Reid overall]

Derek is a nice guy. How did you meet him, Summer? Were you close?

Her foot slips a little off of the window sill and her weight makes the fire escape groan with the extra effort to keep from falling back down. The damn place was locked up good enough that she wasn't going to get in without breaking a window.

Why she decided that this was better than just literally breaking in, she'll probably never really get. It's a City thing, she's pretty sure.

She can hear him up there, upset about...well there's a lot of rambling going on so she's not entirely sure what the deal is, but she sure as hell is gonna find out. There's something to be found out and Faith's feeling unusually confrontational.

Reid is caught up in his ramble so he doesn't realize Faith is climbing the side of the building until he hears the fire escape groan. He moves to the edge of the building and looks over, worry crossing his face. There's also something else there, a certain amount of fear. Part of it is fear for her but part of it is fear of her.

"Faith...you should--We can't do this right now. You've got to stop. You'll end up hurt. They're not going to stop and I can't watch this."

"Thinking now's a perfect time, Doc."

There's something boiling underneath the tone she's trying so hard to keep cool and collected. Probably the same things Reid's feeling with an extra dose of confusion and nerves. Suddenly he cares about her getting hurt? Suddenly he wants to make sure she's okay? As if she can't take care of herself.

No, Reid's the one that needs protecting, and Faith can do it. That's her job, and Reid's a total girl. The guy's pretty square and yet there's a lot buried underneath all that brain matter. She wants to know what it is, and she wants to keep it safe.

It's not a matter of her being able to take care of herself. He doesn't doubt that she can. He worries that she'll slip while protecting him and the only reason he needs protecting is her.

"Just let it go. Let me go and we'll both be safe."

Of course. Morgan has gone home and the City makes things complicated.

[He gave a soft sigh. He wasn't certain if that was sarcasm or not but he decided to play it safe.]

Well, you don't appear as well as you lead on to be. [A moment of silence.]

I've.. had those from my world leave as well before.

I just meant--I will be alright. I'm trying to deal with Morgan being gone and things are weird today.

It's difficult.
