A Disney Epiphany

My son LOVES Mickey's Clubhouse. He knows all the characters names, and gets SO excited when it comes on tv and he has to dance and sing to all the songs...I guess this means I have to like Disney now :P See, I've never really cared about Disneyland or Disney in general. I've always liked Disneyworld cuz well, it's awesome but not because it had ( Read more... )

I think the only reason I like Disney as much as a I do, I don't consider myself a Disney Nut though, is because I never went as a child. I didn't do many fun things as a child, such as vacations, so now I just want to go everywhere and see everything. :P And some of those things are childish.

What's his favorite character? I think you need to go to Disneyland and you can totally invite me too! Thanks!

Ya I get the wanting to do things you never did as a kid thing but what's so special about Disney? I mean you aren't the only adult I know that is all about going to Disney...and I do sort of consider you a Disney nut, I can't think of another theme park or anything that you repeatedly visit so excitedly. It's SO expensive to go there, and then what do you do? Walk around, ride kiddie rides and eat overly priced food. I don't get it. If I want to recapture childhood I could go to other theme parks for less, or do other stuff. I think I only went to Disney once or twice as a child...I can't even remember. I just don't get it but I guess now I have to change my way of thinking.
And his favorite character is hard to figure out. He seems to love Mickey, Goofy and Pluto, but he's gotten excited about Donald and Minnie too.

I don't visit other parks often b/c I have no one to go with. And people will always go to Disney. Like this trip I am taking in Aug. Only going to Disney b/c someone really wants to go, but I would have chosen Knott's. Though, I we are going there too!! Woo hoo! I always prefer Universal Studios. So much more exciting! I was sad when I went to Orlando last year, we didn't get tickets to both Universal Parks. And I don't know how people can spend more than a day at Disneyland and CA Adventure. There isn't much that's interesting. Most of the rides suck. Except for Toy Story! So fun! And food..yes...but I bring PB&Js while others eat real food! LOL! I do have a lot of Disney stuff I wish I could sell...if I wasn't so lazy. DL with a kid might be more fun for me (if I liked the kid). But now, it's just making fun memories with my friends. But let me know when you want to take J! :)

I like Universal better too. I've definitely gone there more than Disney...actually I think I have more memories there than at Disney. And I've always wanted to go to Knotts but the day we were going to go was the day we got the call that my grandpa had his aneurysm. We were in the hotel just heading out the door to go to Knotts and we turned around and drove home...so now it has bad memories and I don't like to think of it :(
I don't think I will be going to Disneyland anytime soon since it's kinda far for me now ;) Plus I still don't like Disneyland and Disneyworld is MUCH closer to us now, so that's where I really want to go. You can come with us there whenever we go :)
