2. Do you feel like you could keep doing your current job (or one of the same genre) for the next 20 years? Or do you feel like you're wasting your life and wish to God (as you understand ( Read more... )

Yes, finally. Although I'm still very slacky in the afternoons.

Yes. Do aboslutely nothing for 4 days, ignore email, and keep telling your boss that "you're working on it." Eventually the stress will force you into action.

2. Do you feel like you could keep doing your current job (or one of the same genre) for the next 20 years?
Ugh, I don't know. Probably not the current job. But HR I like pretty much. So maybe. But you know I have the attention span of a child, and every year I think of going back to school for something else. But I procrastinate so I never do. The procrastination alone will probably keep me in HR.

You could still do the yarn thing and sell the skeins on ebay if she doesn't bite. I'm not familiar with Yarn Harlot--but I'm going to stay far away. I'm so intent on all things Japanese right now that I need to make the most of my desire to study it and avoid distractions. I delude myself enough as it is--that listening to japanese songs and watching movies/shows is actually helping me. In a way it is, but not so much as I like to pretend.

1. No My life is in chaos...but my job is highly structured
2. Yes, especially after being at G and B's retirement party. I can't believe the visible show of students that they influenced there...and I don't think I'll impact even half of that, but yeah, my job,, I actually do like it.

Sorry. For what it's worth, I hear that most people in corporate/businessy stuff tend to think of it as meaningless and really live for the weekends.

I'm glad you find satisfaction and meaning in your job, and I really admire how well you do your job. I could not do it.
