black background is easier on the eyes.
hah! I'm not the only one who thinks that! Everyone at work, including the people who came to give me my ergonomic assessment, thinks I'm crazy and says "how can you read that?" but white backgrounds make my eyes huuuurty... I'm still waiting for them to let me view the info & profile pages in my own colors :P

s'truth... years of monitor-refreshed headaches exacerbated by flourescent light into migraines taught me the value of white-on-black :)
I only keep the comment pages white because it allows me to keep *everyone else's* comment pages white too... better than neon-green or eye-bleeding plaids... :)

Love the Greta Garbo & silent picture caption layout. Very classy. Alack and alas. Smart people are threatening. Smart women are even more threatening. And gay people…get beaten up. As a person who was permanently disabled because I opened my mouth I know the frustrations. You can never win with an opinion. It's an opinion. It's a person's point of view not an intractable fact and just because the arguing person thinks they "won," it probably means that they have beaten down until the other person gives up just to shut the arguing person up. I haven't read all of your journal but I am assuming you got that way honestly, like me. I have an expression I always say: I am who I am and I won't apologize for it.
I've Read Your Profile Would You Like To Be Friends?cartoonmayhemSeptember 17 2007, 23:33:07 UTC
I'm a friend of dr_nebula and vonandmoggy among others on your list and I've read your profile and I'm not afraid (and here's where my husband would insert the Yoda voice "ermm, you will be…you…will…be…) your daughter is indeed adorable. I have an autistic 6 year old. I am considering going Greta Garbo I vant to be left alone myself but I want to let some more people in before I do that myself. I think there are lots of common ground for us to be friends. I have-sometimes- pungent opinions that I don't apologize for. I realize we're still in a world where smart women are still perceived as a threat. But I promise I will check the personal attacks at the door and not create uncalled for drama in your life. Would you like to be friends?

absolutely :) quite pleased to meet you - and looking forward to getting to know you better...
I'd say "any friend of the doc's is a friend of mine" but he's more gregarious (and nicer... and definitely smarter) than I... so I'll just say "heeeey! Nice references!!" ;)

And it's dark in here because I spend so much time on my FL that black background is easier on the eyes. Heh.
:)
Then again, the comments page is always white (standard) just because I'm contrary like that! ;)
