Down with stems! Down with stems! They only obfuscate the notes on the page! They were only necessary 300 years ago when writing utensils consisted of slopping ink on a page. Have you ever had to sight read tenor clef? ;)

Also, it is awesome for music that is from 1899 and earlier. For newer music, particularly music that doesn't adhere to the usual tonal system, it is extremely clunky. You need the right tool for the job!
