O, the internet tells me that I have failed, regarding 'things to do to give yourself an injury with a music instrument.' Particularly, the "acute change in practice habits." :p

This came from practicing the piano? If so, it almost certainly has to do with playing too much in a too little time. Your body needs time to build up and get used to that much practice. The other thing, even more important is TENSION. Piano playing should never feel painful or overly stretchy or difficult. You must remind yourself constantly to RELAX your fingers and arms and shoulders. If you hold tension while you play, you run a serious risk of hurting yourself. You know the Michaelangelo picture in the sistine chapel with god and adam touching fingers? Remember how relaxed that hand position is? That's what it should look and feel like on the piano.
Thanks for the input! To clarify, it came from pianoing and from penciling for about a week. I'm definitely high on the tension in hte shoulders wrists and hands and back and neck. I think I was also sitting with the bench too far back, which I thought would accommodate my longer arms, but that just made me put leverage weight far from my center, which makes my back crampy and then initiates a long chain of attempting to fix the imbalance by pulling in different directions.
Hopefully after a massage tomorrow, and more carefully attending to practicing, I will be less bluh. :\
