the ‘Talibin’ have allsorts of laws and people can be fined if they disobey, everything has to be put in the correct rubbish-bin. But it is a shame about all the packaging that is used just to make the goods more attractive

Yah, my grandma would still get excited over "yankees" up until she left us--though it had finally become a more tolerant grimmace after my brother married a "northerner."

the 1860's sound so long ago, but its only about a hundred and forty years in the past since that war ended.
